Video: Danny Brown Interview with SLAMXHYPE
SLAMXHYPE X DANNY BROWN INTERVIEW from anthony hull on Vimeo.
I can’t say I completely understand all that is going on with Detroit and Fool’s Gold MC Danny Brown. His hair is a little different. His jeans are like 40,000x skinny and look super uncomfortable. But fuck all that because as an artist, DANNY BROWN IS AWESOME.
His XXX record is ill, and he reveals in this interview he is working on EP with fellow Detroit native, Black Milk.
LightWeightHeavy Radio
Do you like hip-hop? I mean like real mother fucking hip-hop? Oh yeah? Then this show is for you. Featuring some classic hip-hop tracks, a great interview with Willie the Kid and a monumentally hilarious call-in beef, the homie Rajon Trondo aka Abortatron returns with LightWeightHeavy Radio for all the true heads.
I first ran into the kid Tron in the NahRight comments section and happened to notice we were repping the same area code, the 3-3-0. Sure enough, LightWeightHeavy Radio is done L-I-V-E from NE Ohio, so you know we have to show love.

D-Day is approaching for Jermaine. September 27th. Looking forward to hearing the record!
On a side note here, for those that don’t know, I am going to be moving back to the States from London on October 27th. I been spinning my wheels here for a minute now and just ready for an overall change of scenery after being here for three years and five of the last six Summers.
I officially end my job on September 29th, then embark on a 26 day 12 country tour of Europe which I am looking forward to immensely. I am also embarking on the final piece of my Master’s degree and hoping to have a draft done by September 26th which puts me in huge crunch. I just gotta go in and crank that out! Whew! Gonna be a little pressurized, but it’s about that time.
Video: Kendrick Lamar Interview w/ The Well Versed
Kendrick speaks on a variety of topics such as his group Black Hippy, his relationship with Jay Rock, making timeless music and who they kicked out of the studio during the recording of “Hol Up.”
Kendrick has been getting tons of love and deservedly so. He will be performing in Columbus on October 14th at Skully’s so be there if you are in the area. Also, love the reason he gave for kicking said person out of the studio. No time for those types of people. Part 2 after the jump.

Flew down to the South of France today. Staying in Nice. Definitely a dope spot on the Mediterranean. Although it is close to Italy, a lot more Italian cuisine than I expected. Good food and sun today for sure though. Headed to Monaco for a minute tomorrow. We’ll see how that rocks.
Also, if you are in Chicago tonight, head to the Double Door where Stalley will be performing along with the big homie GLC.
The Six One Four with The Catalyst
As part of Summer Jam 614 that we helped sponsor, we got to catch up with several artists out of Columbus. One of them, The Catalyst, took time with us to talk about the evolution of the Columbus hip-hop scene, the cuteness in hip-hop and how he developed his fierce rhyme style. He also drops some serious bars at the end.
Real rap, although he hasn’t dropped a project in a minute, he is a crazy lyricist. There are also some funny ass moments in here you don’t want to miss.

Video: Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolBoy Q & Ab-Soul Interview w/ Karmaloop TV
Wow, I just thought about this. There was a time when I barely ever posted any West coast music. I’d say as early as a year ago or so, it seemed like the scene continued to be dormant. Now, I didn’t particularly go out and seek music from that area, but nowadays, it is safe to say that music is being delivered directly to us. And it’s quality. The three above are helping to lead the charge. Check them boys out. Black Hippy.

Video: Kendrick Lamar Interview with Out Da Box
Sorry for not grouping this with the post below, but this is a bit lengthy so I figured I would give it the proper room to breath. Details on the interview below.
Out Da Box TV is proud to bring you a special new interview with Compton, L.A. Emcee “Kendrick Lamar”. Fresh off the release of his “Section 80″ album, we spoke with Kendrick when he visited NYC last month. To us, he really brings a breath of fresh air to the hip hop scene and we were grateful to have a conversation with him. In this interview Kendrick spoke primarily on the greater purpose of his music. He touched on topics such as his subject matter and lyrical approach, fulfilling his purpose outside of the music, giving back to the community, and much more. It was a great pleasure buildin’ with someone we believe will have a longevity effect in the music biz. Kendrick has a unique emcee presence and a humble vibe that will take him a long way. We wish this brother much success. Enjoy the video!

Man…great find by the homie Keeynote. If you never been to his site, please check that out cause the dude goes hammers on the posts.
This here is a straight gem. This really takes me back to the time we were listening to Yeezy before College Dropout dropped. I will never, ever, ever forget that shit. We used to bump this dude so hard, and people would be like, “who is that?” We were on that old school Yeezy flow.
I love the stuff he stays talking about in his interview as well like when he asks one writer why ‘Through the Wire’ was not included in the top 5 Videos of the Year. Tigger is laughing his ass off, but Kanye was really asking for constructive criticism from the writer. Now, he definitely felt his video warranted being in there, but he was asking for her honest perspective.
Overall, that’s what I love about this cat: he just cares about what he is doing so much.
