The Feature Column: Like My Man Puff Say



As I sit here and reflect on the recent past a lot has transpired. I will not bore with the lengthly details but I have noticed a lot of human nature lately. We must conceal our intentions because I do believe most are out for their own good. I feel that when I watch others succeeding as well. We cannot take much at face value in the world we live in because any time there is interaction, humans want to know what is in it for them.

Why is it that sometimes hard work and dedication is thwarted to make others feel more adequate? Recently, projects have stolen much of my physic energies and it has been rather upsetting. I wonder why though. I think we all have this inherent fear of being ditched. It was a fun game when we were kids when with a group to ditch once person. Why did we play those games? Why was that fun? It was not fun to the individual getting ditched. I know I was both the ditch and ditchee at some point and neither felt nice.

Is it that we are preparing ourselves for later in LiFe when each of our fates will be determined by the choices we make? I see now as I mature the great impact my decisions make on myself and those around me. Sometimes the pressures become to much and the juggling act increases. One cannot successfully make sure all are happy if sanity is something one seeks.

Naw Beans – The Feature Column

Tired is the steez. Going 50 directions at once with this insurgence of energy where it originates is from the most High. Balance is what most seek, but that battle might not be one worth the time. In LiFe it seems right when we have one plate spinning on a stick another one starts to fall. Maybe we should not seek to get as many plates going before they (and we crash). It could be that one how we internalize our responsibilities will determine most oft their outcome and do we have responsibilities that reflect our gifts and talents. The majority of the people I speak with hate their jobs. They LiVe for the weekend and enjoy themselves, but the majority of their lives is spent at work. They are miserable. Is that fair? Did our Creator put us on this planet to LiVe meaningless lives? Did this entity give us talents of music, art, sound, compassion, empathy, atheltic ability, the list goes on and on, for it to be wasted on the dreams of others? I think not.

Don’t Stop

Beautiful day from my vantage point as I sit here to ponder. I have recently gone through some changes and have witnessed some results of a positive thought process. Granted, this boy does not have everything quite figured out yet, as the plot thickens, he will though.

Actually, at the moment I am learning to stay open to the possibility of greatness. Not in an arrogant or materialistic sense, but the idea that I know I was put here on the Earth to be great. Not just myself, but you as well. For some reason, our human species was placed on the planet. We do not know why we have faith, but no one knows for sure how we got here. We do know that it is all that we know.

The Feature Column: Throw it all down

There is a time to laugh and a time to cry. A time to work and a time to play. How do we want to graph that section of our lives? In the midst of change it feels as though LiFe is controlling us instead of us controlling LiFe. I believe we are meant to LiVe our lives in a way that reflects positivly on us as well as the world around us. We were each given a specific set of talents and strengths and it is up to us to figure out what they are, acknowledge the talent, and use those gifts to better ourselves and the other members of our species.

What do we do when we get that curve ball or LiFe. does not go the way we want? I know when it happens to me I want to just shut down. Say f it go get some cocktails and forget it ever happened. Well is that productive, or going to help me reach my goals? A funny line from “Half Baked” when Chappelle is “ol green eyes,” his song says that he just wants to throw it all down and get lifted.

I understand that, LiFe is very difficult, especially the older we get. It is so much easier to give up, settle for mediocrity, and coast through LiFe bouncing from vice to vice looking for self-medication in drugs or alcohol, or in the form of obsessive behavior whether that is perfectionism or the counter. The trick is when there is a set-back try not to concentrate on one outcome.

To Whom Much is Given Much is Tested…




In my recent travels I have come to understand the power of perspective. It is until you either literally or figuratively walk a mile in someone’s shoes, then you may have the right to judge. Otherwise, we are all walking contradictions and we do the best with the knowledge, inspiration and personal will power that we will truly have what we want.

I think it’s the secret to life. It is figuring out what we actually want and being open to the idea that we may be given the blueprint to achieve our goals. We are here to thrive and flourish. We were given this free will not bring upon plagues, but to uplift our species to heights and tranquility never before imagined. The thing of it is, it’s so hard to really know what is right and what is wrong. We do have our conscience and inherently we know what is right and wrong, but unfortunately so many decisions are made in the moment and off of emotion that we make the wrong decision because in that “Blink,” we think we are making the right decision.

I have gathered that it is OK. It is part of this maturation process that only ends at death. We are never at the destination on this planet because once we are there we have a new list of goals and dreams. That is the beauty of the present an everlasting gift because once we are out of this dimension we are gone. We have only one story of someone who could bring back the dead and that was Jesus with himself the soldiers child and Lazarus. Otherwise, we have to make due with how we internalize what happens to us. Many of us get crapped on our whole lives, and some hit the lottery. Either way, we have an aura or a bubble that we influence. It could be family, friends, spouses, or soul mates. It is how we affect the people around us, and our intent for the world which will determine our fate.

We are all unique and the pie is big enough because no one has the exact same goals. Instead of hating on another because they are achieving and you are not, pick that person up and tell them that they give you hope to continue to be in the process of achieving yours and we will start to collectively emit a positive emotion that will bring favor on all. Please know we are all in this together, and we can achieve tremendous things. You are special. You have gifts that are uniquely yours. We will be the next greatest generation. Thank you for all of us finding balance and truth in our lives. Stay up and be aware of the positive impact you can have on the people and the world in which we inhabit. The Sun the Reason Why the Day Goin’ Come

It is quite a beautiful day from where I am sitting. It is not necessarily that I have all external forces taken care of at the moment but what I am working on is the inner experience. As I mature, I am realizing the importance of awareness of my actions, inside and out.
In America we have a right to LiFe, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. How do we define happiness? Is it as the myth or lore taught us? We must save a damsel in distress by slaying a dragon, marking one illustrious moment in life where all comes together and we go on to live happily ever after? I do not think so. What I see is that how we enjoy life has to be based on the inner harmony, and this we can create in our hearts and minds. If we have a list of worldly desires such as money, fortune, and fame. We rely on the attainment of these vices to determine our happiness the bottom will fall out. Once we are to attain these possessions we will be left with discontent and a new list of wants and wishes.
The world was not created with human comfortability in mind. As we progress and our views into outer space become greater and greater, we see chaos. Chaos is a word we use to somehow define the cosmos. It is violent out there. Certain stars blow up and disengrate anything a billion miles out. Even this planet and it’s picturesque beauty, for humans to survive they have had to endure vicious heat, cold, larger predators, and micro-organisms that seek to snuff us out. In order for us to make sense of our place here, we have to find joy no matter how miniscule it may be. How we react internally to every single situation will define our happiness and our place on this planet.

We have no eye witness account of the after-life or what happens when we die. Some believe how we act on this planet will determine where one spends eternity. If we live well, and in the example of giving a life for a friend, we will have our daily bread and we will be fulfilled. If we live poorly, selfishly and arrogantly, we will spend eternity in perpetual fire. We are given a gift or curse depending your lot called Free Will. This allows us an inner conscious and set of moral beliefs that we adhere to, and some call it “rocks.” This is usually learned from your upbringing, environment and peers. We take this to ‘real life’ and have the choice to make positive decisions or negative decisions. We have that choice in every situation. It seems that the more positive decisions we make collectively emits ‘vibrations’ into the universe that create more positive interactions and situations, and the reverse is true when consistent negative situations. As evolved human beings we can create a positive shift with an effort to create inner harmony from every part of life.

I am in constant quest of the connection with the infinite intelligence to allow for positive strides to be made in the world. and the quality of life for humanity as a whole. Here is a seed for your thoughts: do believe it is possible for you to create a positive impact on humanity? If yes, what can we do to create this kind of positivity? I feel that the Renaissance Period taught us to be creative and turn inward to explore our consciousness and create art and expression to show others it is possible to LiVe, LoVe, LiFe, with intent of greatness.
I wish all a great week and realize you can achieve greatness. You do not have to be a slave to life. You can master your inner harmony and find your happiness. Hold your head, know you are unique, and remember the positive impact you can have on the people and the world we inhabit.

Happy Easter and Happy Day

As we gather with family and friends a holiday can allow us to grow.
To move past grudges, and not always be on the go.
The love from family is the sustenance I have gone with out.
On to the next one I said and I will win no doubt.
But there has been a hole that has not been fed in years
and as I think about that time my eyes fill with tears.
Not cause for the melancholy but to celebrate life
to move pass poor choices, stress, and strife.
As the Chicago breeze rips through my room I will sit here a smile
because these are sights I have not seen in awhile.
There is a lot to be learned from the Easter tradition
it is spontaneous and breaks from repetition
The core of the holiday is one man gave His life to save humanity
by accepting human form whilst keeping His divinity.
Whether a Muslim, Jew, Christian, or whatever your creed
we can learn from each other and help fill what we all need.
A sense of belonging to a purpose higher than ourselves
regardless of the icons that grace your shelves.
If we can scour each others similarities and find where we connect
can keep us from wars and raise our intellect.
We should be promoting life on this planet in all its forms
and think abstractly and stray away from the norms.
Because we were created to be unique and abundant
this thought is fresh and never redundant.
Accept yourself for who you are
and do not measure that looking at your car
You are special and I hope you know it is true
cuz let me get moving and you will not believe what I can do.

LiVe.LoVe.LiFe.

They say the love of money will crush your insides
it can lead you back and forth like the rushing of the tides.
What is important as we stroll this earth
questing for more is what I have done since birth.
Living in the present and being thankful for I do have
sometimes I feel like LeBron contemplating not being a Cav
The grass may look greener but what is the cost
Winter is leaving so so long Jack Frost
A new era is dawning and it is sparked by our generation
the knowledge of love and to not seek admiration
The inner monologue is the source of our inspiration
hopefully that chat will be cause for celebration.
The world seems unfair and those doing right get left behind
and sometimes empty feelings or regret we will find
but it is how we deal with adversity that determines who we are
not the house we live in or the make and model of our car.
It is time to find the cancers that dwell with in us
and cut those out of our life that put up the most fuss.
Because a little rejuvenation and close family ties
can lead us to the Higher Plane available in the sky.

The World is Large…Don’t Let It Pummel You

As the day becomes colder I am reminded of different times,

when my statistics meant more than my rhymes.
As I seek to find balance and strength overall
I feel that as I climb I continue to fall.
I can make something out of nothing and bring it to you
but when is it time for me to do what I want to do?
Through self-discovery I find the weakness of the flesh
and the majority is basketball shorts, mesh.
A society based off of materialistic and selfish behavior
It is time to see that money and possession is a shoddy savior.
I am looking to the world to show me the way and I think I am on the brink
because I will throw all of my effort and yes even the kitchen sink.
Like Pooh bBar lost in a pot of honey
we seek instant gratification and it usually requires money.
Positivity and fortitude is etched on my heart
I seek to contribute to this world and will gladly take my part.
Maturation and the ability to reason quickly seems harder as the years go by
Like a Smashing Pumpkin I say today is the greatest day
Even if you are up against a wall
You can drive the lane and never take a fall.
I pray for motivation and inspiration to succeed
and I have been giving more than I will ever need.
Stay strong as we get through this time in life
and stay positive through the failures and the strife.
I have the ability to hold one thought in my mind, and I am choosing positivity and a faith in my God. I feel that the time is now to seriously consider your passion in life. I am searching to fulfill mine because the counter looks grim. I want a life that I enjoy. I am willing to do the hard work but the message is clear. There are either those that lead or those that follow. Which are you?
I want to keep my thoughts brief as the day grows weary because I am left with much to ponder. I intend to follow my heart as best that I can and move further along in my quest for enlightenment. I want good things to happen in my life and I seek abundance. In order to do so I must keep my self-talk on my focus and look to hit adversity head on and take it to the goal line.
I wish you success and vibrant health as we all enter this change in seasons. “The world is large, don’t let it pummel you”(The Glove). These are true words. We are unique individuals that can accomplish any and everything. Please pray for me as I will for you and remember the positive impact you can have on the people and the world we inhabit.

They going to have to take my life before they take my drive, cause when I was barely living that’s what kept me alive

Sitting here trying to visualize my dreams
and yes I know things are not always as it seems
But either am I
not Capitan but the other guy.
I seek a wealth of knowledge with multiple interactions
Been doing it since the days of learning mathmatics and sequent subtractions
I intend to take a torch and bring it to the Lord
whether Im rockin that Lex or behind an Edsel Ford.
You have talents unmatched by the masses
and not to act with kill you as the time passes.
Why do you feel you are created in this dimension?
Can you cure a disease or do you have an invention?
If the camera is here and the lights are on
then start to be real and stop trying to con.
Because you act the part does not mean you are real
need to attack the day with firceness and zeal.
The Glove say we do not live forever
so are you just cruising by or are you on an endeavor.
True what they say life is a journey not a destination
so one day at a time in an effort towards progression.
An open mind, faith, and the will to suceeed,
this can fill the void and give you want you need.
What do you want from life the choice is yours,
and I know life can hurt and knock you to all fours
The human will is stronger than anything in this perception
being open is the key might be your only chance at direction.
Open to the infinite intelligence
make sure what you bring to the table has some relevance.
The time is now the minutes are slippin
make sure you have skates on otherwise you tripping.
Culmination of the being of a few
the future of our species depends on you.

At times it seems as though life is just a game and that we are just random pieces of matter floating in the abyss of the galaxy. This is not the case, there had to be some divine design and we were created for a purpose. It appears that “the reason for life” is in constant question. Is it thought, or is it that we have not fully shut down the animalistic tendencies of our earliest anscestors. We live in a time when on one end of the globe people are dying from obesity and on the other people are dying of starvation. Um to me that does not make sense, it does make sense the state of affairs of our world thought. There is so much imbalance in the world that it has to throw off the collective vibartions of our species. If the law of attraction is true on a singular level you best believe it works on larger scales.

It is important to stay in touch with your thoughts as well as take time to meditate. I see this in my own life. I know when I am constantly on the go and take no time for myself things go out of whack. I also realize the counter thought. When I am taking care of myself right, resting, eating, and working out properly, and being in touch with my faith and thoughts that things go much more smoothly. Hmmm why do I not stay in that mind set all the time? As a human our attention spands are miniscule, I know I let outside factors influence me and when I am above those influences (sweet say no to drugs line) I honestly am progressing.

Time is not slowing time and we are not getting any younger. We have a very limited time here on this planet and we have the choice to do with it what we please. It is a sweet deal when we do what we want but not so sweet when people choose to make decisions that harm others. When this happens people get mad at God and blame him and say how could You let this happen and blame God. (Another thing we all do is blame everyone else for our problems) See it is not God’s fault when things go aray. We were given free will and everything that comes with that.

I am going to make an effort in my own life to be more objective of my actions and look to the Heavens to rain inspiration, motivation, and positivity into my life. I hope you would join me. Everyday of your life when you wake up has the potential to be the best day of your life. I think that is sweet and am trying to have that mindset when I wake up and when I do traffic, work, and other people seem to melt away. I wish you the best and please know you are unique and have a special purpose on this planet. Please keep an open mind, and know that you were created to make a positive impact on the people and the world we inhabit……..
