Video: Give Up the Sticks: A Documentary
One year ago today, we were privileged to be part of one of the most unique releases of 2010, the video game themed project Give Up the Sticks. Thinking back on all the hard work that went into that release, it’s hard to believe a year has already passed. However, I am excited to finally let loose this documentary on the world, so everyone can witness all the great moments that came along with putting together a project like this.
The documentary includes interview, performance, music video and studio footage. It is truly a comprhensive, behind the scenes look into the creative process behind the best video game concept project I have ever heard: Give Up the Sticks!
Oh, and a big thank you to Soul, James John, Mike A., VeE!, Mick and Terry (hosting), Madelyn Lee (artwork), Jay Up, J Vic and all the bloggers/writers who posted and covered the project. Official blurb on the project below, and the official release after the jump if don’t have it by now!
Give Up the Sticks: A Documentary takes you on the journey of three gamers as they set out to make the ultimate video game concept record.
MC James John and producer Mike A. of Divine Minds, along with MC/Producer SoulKlap enter a brilliantly creative world and craft one of the most unique releases of 2010. Heardaled by producers Boi-1da and Tha Bizness, you can now catch all the hard work and gaming that went into the making of this fantastic project.

Video: Pusha T Interview with Bootleg Kev
Your neighborhood Push covers a range of topics in this here interview. If you are looking for an update on everything Pusha Ton, check this for sure.
Flew down to the South of France today. Staying in Nice. Definitely a dope spot on the Mediterranean. Although it is close to Italy, a lot more Italian cuisine than I expected. Good food and sun today for sure though. Headed to Monaco for a minute tomorrow. We’ll see how that rocks.
Also, if you are in Chicago tonight, head to the Double Door where Stalley will be performing along with the big homie GLC.
GLC & Tator Chip present I Know Who You Pimped Last Summer

They say crack is whack, but honestly, so is not supporting THE ISM!!! He just dropped a new tape for the people and picked the most appropriate name humanly possible. CATHEDRAL!

Video: Kendrick Lamar – A.D.H.D
Shot in NY and directed by Va$htie. Now, I normally rock with Va$htie and her work, but I think this visual leaves a lot to be desired. Pretty simple if you ask me. Because the themes on Section.80 were so universal, I thought we would get a lot more symbolism with the visuals off the project. Beside that, I mess with this cut heavy.
Hit the jump for the Kendrick show in L.A. that Dream Urban recently put on. Crazy cast of artists show out for K Dot, and essentially, “pass the torch” to him as the left coast’s newest, most gifted MC.

Paul White feat. Danny Brown – One Of Life’s Pleasures

First heard of Paul White when James John passed along the kid Tranqill’s EP. Tranqill is from South London, and the dude Paul White, also from the UK, had some dope ass production on there.
Looks like he put together an album with some MCs, and he got the nutso rapper that is Danny Brown to hop on a track. Definitely something different, but check it out. I’ll be checking back in with a few more posts a little later in the day.
