Da Kreek – Clock In: Flight Shift

Straight up: I had not even heard of Da Kreek until we hosted the B.o.B. show last year, and my whole team was telling me, “we need to get Da Kreek on the show.” Slightly forgive me though for not being entirely in tune with the Youngstown scene because, after all, I do live in London and still listen to Reasonable Doubt like it’s 1996.

Since that show, my respect for them as a group, namely due their work ethic and professionalism, has grown tremendously. I give them all the credit in World for their growth as artists from the limited time I have known them.

There is no question this release is stellar. In fact, I’m blown away by how dope it is! It is a great, great mix of real hip-hop records, then more friendly club type records. But let me clarify, they aren’t cheesy club records, they are real bouncy club records. To me, those are the best kind.

The production is super diverse and unique. I’ll also tell you this: they know how to actually write and make records. Very conceptual with great execution.

Killer work from DTown & Mello Dee on both the beats and the rhymes!
