Nike Air Jordan VI Infrared Retro 2010

Okay, so I know I have posted these previously. Maybe on several occasions even. Well, I have been on the hunt for these lately on eBay only to see price tags in the $600-$700 range. Not what I was hoping to see. I usually buy one pair of Jordan’s per year and stash them away. These had moved to the top of my list. I logged on today to find that they will actually be retroing these bad boys in January at a cost of $150 a pop. Much more feasible.

That’s the great news for today. The question is: Can I wait that long?

January 2010. In a store near you. $150.

Nike SB Gucci Dunk 2009

Hi Haters.

Not sure about release details, but these look sick as hell to me. I like the tattered canvas look as well. Though, I never wore holes in my jeans like some Abercrombie test babies used to.

Who is hating now? Oops.

Anyway, big pimpin’ on the Gucci’s.

Trying To Balance on a Thin Line and Praying for the Next Day, I’ll Be Just Fine

By Salvatore Hall — inspired by B.O.X.

It has been a minute since the last time I really sat down to write about my thoughts. On this Higher Plane we seek to promote thought in a generally positive fashion.

Thought in itself is something to be questioned. Do we have pure thoughts, or do outside influences effect what thoughts we allow in our minds? It seems as if we can really chose our thoughts. We can most certainly chose our actions, and ultimately have to live with the consequences good or bad. There has to be a source of our thoughts. Something out there that sends us these messages in the forms of visions, dreams, and thoughts. What is it? Are there two sides, one sending out positive ideas, and one sending negative ideas out? Is it up to us in our lives to decide which thoughts we will entertain and ultimately deciding how we will spend the afterlife either with evil or good.

This could be interpreted as God and Satan. It does not have to though. It simply means that there is some proof something out of our control, or real scientific knowledge, is sending out thoughts because you and I have thoughts every day. You are probably thinking now.

How do we explain a thought, and why do we get them? Why do some people chose to live positively, and why do others let outside influences dictate how their earthly life will be? Is it because there are truly strong forces for good and evil out there. I mean turn on the daily news if you do not believe there is evil in the world. Also, check your own track record, how many times have we all made the wrong decision or chose the easy way out? You even thought no one else may know we know we did not make the “right” decision, but we did it anyway with the internal justification system of the body to aid us in our self-denial.

There are many systems in the body that help it run smoothly, but a system that is hard to control or be objective to is the internal justification system. For some reason it seems human beings have an intensely inward viewpoint that, at the core, is subjective. It is inordinately hard to see outside of that viewpoint or to understand the effect of your choices on others. I can tell you from personal experience that if we can justify an action in our minds, our body will surely follow. Again, this is something we can control though. In order to be good at anything, practice must ensue. No matter in sports, school, job, or relationships without seriously setting a plan to practice, along with some motivation and determination, can real growth occur.

Why are we born into this Earth as a baby to take life full circle and for a short while enjoy pure ignorance of the place that our soul originated only to grow old and eventually leave the earth in a similar way as we came in? In birth, we were helpless relying on our parents to sustain us, and at old age rely on machines, medicine, and others to sustain us.

A side bar here, if I quote or take some ideas from a certain religion and roll with that for a few verses never think in my writing I am completely defined by a certain religion or find fault in any religion, belief, or thought from another equal human being. I am just expressing some thoughts.

Growing up with a fair amount of religion I was introduced to the idea of purgatory. Here is a short definition of this idea from Wikipedia:

Purgatory is the condition or process of purification in which the souls of those who die in a state of grace are made ready for Heaven. This is an idea that has ancient roots and is well-attested in early Christian literature, while the conception of purgatory as a geographically situated place is largely the achievement of medieval Christian piety and imagination.

The notion of purgatory is associated particularly with the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church (in the Eastern sui juris churches or rites it is a doctrine, though often without using the name “Purgatory”); Anglo-Catholic Anglicans generally also hold to the belief. John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, believed in an intermediate state between death and the final judgment and in the possibility of “continuing to grow in holiness there”, but Methodism does not officially affirm his belief and denies the possibility of helping by prayer any who may be in that state. The Eastern Orthodox Churches believe in the possibility of a change of situation for the souls of the dead through the prayers of the living and the offering of the Divine Liturgy, and many Orthodox, especially among ascetics, hope and pray for a generalapocatastasis. A similar belief in at least the possibility of a final salvation for all is held by Mormonism. Judaism also believes in the possibility of after-death purification and may even use the word “purgatory” to present its understanding of the meaning of Gehenna.

The word “purgatory” has come to refer also to a wide range of historical and modern conceptions of postmortem suffering short of everlasting damnation, and is used, in a non-specific sense, to mean any place or condition of suffering or torment, especially one that is temporary.

The thought that illustrates my idea is from John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, believed in an intermediate state between death and the final judgment and in the possibility of “continuing to grow in holiness there.” Are we in this state now? Are we currently in purgatory. This is an intermediate state between death and final judgement, we were born into this world, and it is up to us if we are going to continue to grow in holiness. This may be a bit out there, but we ultimately have two very strong forces acting on us on a daily basis. We see the effects of these forces everyday. Unfortunately, when we turn on the news we see the effects of evil in the world. The greed of a few raping and stealing from the world. Companies trying to control our water supply and keep those without means from having clean water. Politicians demanding bribe money from children’s hospitals in order for them to get funding. Children killing children, and genocide and the disrespect for human life running as rampant as a virus. But you also see some people who risk their life for a stranger, such as a fireman storming into a burning building as others flee, and as simply as smiling to someone in the office, or waiting that extra ten whole seconds to hold the door or give someone a break in traffic. The work of so many in the peace corps and those dedicated community leaders that strive to provide help for families in need.

There is so much good available in the world, but we allow evil too often to steal our gifts. The forces of good are available to help and sustain our brothers and sisters. I am starting to look at this life as a choice and way to add some good into an often cruel world. The more we can start to output and positivity, and let greed and stupid fake social hierarchies lay by the wayside we can seriously make a difference.

Please pray for me as I will for you because the battle for our mind and hearts is never ending. We can win, and we can change the fate of humanity. If we do not do something soon we will run out of our natural resources and mother Earth will dispose of us. It is time for some action, and it has to start from within. We are capable and created to do amazing things. Keep your head and remember the positive effect you have on the people and the world in which we inhabit.

LiVe.LoVe.LiFe.

Peace.
